Hailing from Nelson Lancashire. My favourite band is top band. I am currently experimenting with various kite lifted antenna`s for this band.

 

The pictures below show the tank circuit tuner arrangment for my kite lifted antenna. As you can see it is all home made, right down to the high voltage tuning cap. Since space was not a problem, I have opted for low loss rather than good looks and small size! The unit measures 550 mm by 230 mm. The coil is made from 8 mm copper tube with a former diameter of 160 mm. The coil has 15 turns and is 200 mm in length. The home made cap has a value of around 450 pf and 5 mm vane clearance.

 

The tuner has been designed to tune both 160 and 80 mtrs but you will usually find me on 160.
